My ESC volunteer experience:

No doubt, for every foreigner it is a big surprise to see the differences in the approach to kids' upbringing and education, as well as culture and way of living. Since the first day, I was observing the places I could make an impact in and enhance my teaching dedication . At the first stage, I was impressed by Zahrada Montessori School, which has an unusual way of conducting classes in a game way. In addition, middle students had to cook the lunch themselves and clean the classroom, which is completely different from a traditional type of school. Once I became a part of this community, I realized that my life would never be the same again. The school staff is so open-minded and helpful, that you can forget that you are at school but home.

On a final note, I think it is normal to face some issues at the beginning of your service path but be sure to keep in mind that you are not alone and all you need is the right community near you, and Hnizdo is part of it.
