El 31 de enero de 2021 empezaba mi primera experiencia en el extranjero, nunca había estado fuera de casa por más de un mes y estaba llena de alegría, miedo, nervios, dudas, felicidad... Nunca pensé que pudiera sentir tantas emociones a la vez y tan diferentes, hasta el día antes de coger mi primer vuelo en España con destino: República Checa. Un largo viaje desde Asturias para llegar a Tisnov, donde no me había podido imaginar la sensación de "casa" que iba a sentir aquí, a tantos kilómetros de distancia. Todos esos sentimientos que tenía se transformaron, en menos de 24 horas, en tranquilidad. Desde el primer momento la gente de la organización se preocupó por nosotras y de que estuviéramos con todas las comodidades para vivir.
Durante mi primer mes como voluntaria en Zahrada la experiencia fue genial y muy enriquecedora. Los niños son muy sociables y, además de esforzarse por intentar comunicarse, también me intentan enseñar su idioma, igual que yo lo hago con el mío y con el inglés. Estoy muy contenta de poder vivir un año aquí y tengo muchas ganas de seguir mi voluntariado. A pesar de que en el mes de marzo las clases vayan a ser online, tenemos la posibilidad de seguir participando y proponer actividades para que el tiempo delante del ordenador sea más ameno. Me resulta muy interesante poder ver como los niños aprenden de una forma diferente a la habitual en la que encuentran su propia motivación para aprender. Espero que durante este año aquí pueda enseñarles muchas cosas, pero sin duda creo que la que más va a aprender soy yo, y eso es una suerte.

On the 31st of January 2021, my first experience abroad began, I had never been away from home for more than a month, and I was full of joy, fear, jitters, doubts, happiness... I never thought that I could feel too many emotions at the same time and so different, until the day before taking my first flight in Spain with destiny: the Czech Republic. A long journey from Asturias to arrive at Tisnov, where I couldn´t imagine the feeling of "home" that I´ll feel here, so many kilometers away from my home. All those feelings that I had, transformed, in less than 24 hours, in tranquility. From the first moment, people from the organization worried about us and that we had all the comforts to live.
During my first month as a volunteer in Zahrada, the experience was amazing and very enriching. Children are very sociable, they try to communicate, and they also try to teach me their language, as I do with mine and with English. I´m very happy that I can live here for a year and I really want to continue my volunteering. Despite during the month of march the lessons are going to be online, we can continue participating and propose activities to make time in front of the computer more enjoyable for children. I find it interesting that I can see children learning in a different way than usual and that they can find their motivation to learn. I hope that during this year here I can teach them lots of things, but definitely, I think that the one who will learn the most it´s me, and that´s lucky.
